Cover Art Submissions Open for Issue 1

The first volume of our literary journal, entitled "Beginnings," will be released early 2021. Cover art submissions are closed.

What are we looking for?

The Editors want cover art that fit all of the following requisites:

• A single piece of artwork without   the title or logo
• Artwork that fits the aesthetic of both our particular literary journal and traditional literary magazine covers
• Artwork that is easy to format or fashion into a magazine cover 

This could present itself in the form of a photograph, a painting, or a colored pencil sketch - you name it. We want artwork that contains all the crisp edges and whimsical nostalgia of beginnings. Be sure to pay attention to the target: we are a literary magazine, not a travel magazine or a fashion magazine. For help on this, a quick Google search of "literary magazine design" would probably suffice.

How to Submit

Be prepared with up to two separate pieces and an artist's statement for both or each. An individual piece may contain both a front and back cover, but a back cover is not required. Please refrain from putting any words on your artwork. 
Artists under the age of 20 may submit. 
Please upload your work to this form.

What to Expect

Submissions for cover art close on February 10. 
The artist will not be paid monetarily, but they will be credited in the journal and on the website. In addition, an artist profile will be uploaded to the website honoring their art and establishing their presence as a teen artist. 
In addition, some stand-out submissions may be placed in the online gallery.
