"Cicatrize" by Parvati Kalluparampil
My feet seem to sway beneath me.
The world fading in and out.
Every crack and every wound,
coming alive.
Praying, hoping and begging
for the pain to stop.
To fall asleep before falling apart.
And those nights
when I sit on the floor,
With dried tears sticking to my cheeks
and
dried blood on my wrists,
Holding myself in the
safety of my arms,
I'd wish it was you.
That it was you who was rocking me.
Telling me it'll all be okay.
That I was strong enough to get through this,
Telling me you'd be there with every step I take.
I fall into peace,
Imagining myself in your cold embrace.
The world fading in and out.
Every crack and every wound,
coming alive.
Praying, hoping and begging
for the pain to stop.
To fall asleep before falling apart.
And those nights
when I sit on the floor,
With dried tears sticking to my cheeks
and
dried blood on my wrists,
Holding myself in the
safety of my arms,
I'd wish it was you.
That it was you who was rocking me.
Telling me it'll all be okay.
That I was strong enough to get through this,
Telling me you'd be there with every step I take.
I fall into peace,
Imagining myself in your cold embrace.
