"Virago" by Aliha Atif
Raging,
Like the ocean down below the cliff.
Raging like the anger inside of me.
Like the waves that crash harsh against the shore.
Bitterness,
A cold that ices my skin.
And burns the heat providing me warmth.
The bitterness of the rain that falls from above.
Leaving me shivering and pleading.
Silence,
Deafens me entirely leaving me cold and empty,
Suffocates me until im left in darkness with nothing but a void.
Silence hugs me like arms of a person
Trying to make it all right
Like a blanket.
Loneliness,
The feeling in my chest that sinks me further.
That draws me closer to the edge.
Ready to fly when I drown.
Until nothing but the waters of the ocean choke me.
Her,
Her smile reaches my mind.
Her voice echoes through my ears.
Her eyes glinting before me.
She was the one who pulled me up.
